Pinoy Pop-Up

If you didn't know, M&M's founders are proud Filipinas. After the 2020 lockdown in Shanghai, they were really missing the Philippines. An important part of the culture is food, since food always brings everybody together, especially family.

M&M partnered up with Perch to bring you a taste of the Philippines right here in Shanghai. Special thanks to our Filipino homecook chefs who took over Perch's kitchen so they could serve up delicious dishes for everyone to feast on.

Chef Noemie of Sunday Batch, Chef Opalyn of Aunty Baby's & Chef Jamie Pea were our star chefs for our Filipino pop-ups.

M&M x Perch hosted many pop-ups and there are surely more to come!

Pinoy Boodle Fight

Our guest Filipina chefs prepared oodles of boodle sets for everyone! It was a sunny Sunday afternoon well spent with food that brought our friends and family together. Eating, sharing and laughing over tasty Filipino food and Tanduay Rum cocktails.

Jamie Pea's Vegan Pop-Up

Everybody was happily stuffed with Chef Jamie Pea’s Filipino-Chinese dishes. Some guests had a feast and opted for a family style dinner ordering every dish to share. From the savory dishes like torta talong, kare-kare, pancit to the sweet & sour dessert of sorbetes – it was a delectable vegan dinner to remember.

Pasko sa Perch

What does Pasko mean? Pasko is the tagalog word for ‘Chistmas’. Since our M&M founders & fellow Filipino friends were unable to go home for Christmas in December 2020, they decided to host another Pinoy Pop-Up. We had Pinay chefs cooking some classic Filipino dishes & Filipino brands selling some goodies like chicharron, polvoron, pandesal and more! It was a full house at Perch & a very joyous afternoon.

Our First Pinoy Pop-Up

This was M&M’s very first Pinoy Pop-Up! Our friends had the same high-levels of craving for Filipino food as we did. It was a successful first event with fully booked tables and dishes pouring out of the kitchen one after another. Since there isn’t a Filipino restaurant in Shanghai, a pop-up was organized. And after the success of this one, M&M together with Perch decided to keep on hosting a Pinoy pop-up for the foodie community.
